Field Trip: Viles Arboretum, Augusta
May 12 @ 7:00 am - 3:00 pm
Join us as we continue our pursuit of spring migrants at this noted hotspot. The 224-acre Pine Tree State Arboretum has fields, marshes, ponds, gardens, and woods making for a diverse habitat for birds. Bobolinks, bluebirds, and tree sparrows can be seen in the meadows, warblers in the woods, and ducks and wading birds in the ponds. Depending on reports, we may initially look for Louisiana Waterthrushes at nearby Vaughn Woods.
We will meet at Viles Arboretum at 7:00 AM. We welcome birders of all skill levels. For more information, or in the event of inclement weather, please call Trip Leader, Dennis McKenna, at (207) 563-8439 (home) or cell 207-522-2891.
