Field Trip: Viles Arboretum, Augusta

May 28 @ 7:30 am - 3:00 pm

For 2022, we require that participants over the age of twelve be fully vaccinated against Covid-19. Participants are welcome to arrange carpooling among themselves, but we will not meet at a central location beforehand. The trip leader will meet participants at the actual trip site.
***********************************************

Join us as we continue our pursuit of spring migrants at this noted hotspot. The 224-acre Pine Tree State Arboretum has fields, marshes, ponds, gardens, and woods making for a diverse habitat for birds. Bobolinks, bluebirds, and tree sparrows can be seen in the meadows, warblers in the woods, and ducks and wading birds in the ponds. Last year we saw both Sora and Virginia rails.

All are welcome! You don’t need to be an Audubon member or have advanced birding skills to join us. We simply hope to instill interest in the natural world through an understanding of how birds live and thrive in our area.

We will meet at Viles Arboretum at 7:30 AM. For more information, or in the event of inclement weather, please call Trip Leader, Will Brussard at (207) 837-9520.
