Field Trip: Popham Beach
October 7 @ 9:00 am - 2:00 pm
*We want to continue to honor the social distancing guidance, which makes carpooling for this longer trip unwise.*
The sandy beaches at Popham Beach attract sandpipers and plovers during migration; likely waterbirds include eiders, loons, grebes, scoters, and guillemots; the adjacent salt marsh is habitat for herons and egrets; and, the forest edges often result in some warbler species.
We will meet at Popham Beach State Park at 9 am. We welcome birders of all skill levels. We’ll enjoy a nice lunch out together. For more information, or in the event of inclement weather, please call Trip Leader, Dennis McKenna, at (207) 563-8439 (home) or cell 207-522-2891.
