A Chapter of Maine Audubon
The sandy beaches at Popham Beach attract sandpipers and plovers during migration; likely waterbirds include eiders, loons, grebes, scoters, and guillemots; the adjacent salt marsh is habitat for herons and egrets; and, the forest edges often result in some warbler species.
We will meet at Popham Beach State Park at 9 am. For those coming from the north, we will meet at Damariscotta Hannaford’s at 8 am to carpool. Remember, all carpool participants must be fully vaccinated.
We welcome birders of all ages and skill levels. For more information, or in the event of inclement weather, please call Trip Leader, Dennis McKenna, at (207) 563-8439 (home) or cell 207-522-2891.
