Rescheduled: Lobster Bake on Hog Island
September 14 @ 10:00 am - 3:00 pm
After much deliberation over the weather, we have decided to postpone the Lobster Bake scheduled for September 7th, rescheduling it for September 14th. Though Dorian will likely not hit us as a hurricane, it will make for an uncomfortable and difficult day for our fire and boat rides.
Due to the reschedule, we now have some tickets available! A $50 donation covers boat transportation, a meal of a lobster, potato, corn and onion, all baked over an open fire, plus lemonade, coffee, tea and dessert, and the opportunity to explore the island before or after eating. Please contact us ASAP for a reservation by e-mailing Seafood Sue at email@example.com, subject “Lobsters” or calling 380-1370.
Mid-Coast Audubon invites everyone to its annual lobsterbake fundraiser at Hog Island Audubon camp with members of the Mid-Coast Audubon Board displaying their cooking talents and available to answer bird questions. A $50 per person donation covers boat transportation, a meal of a lobster, clams, potato, corn and onion, all baked over an open fire, plus lemonade, coffee and dessert, and the opportunity to explore the island before or after eating.
The boat will depart the Audubon dock, at the end of Keene Neck Road in Bremen, at 10 a.m. (for those who wish to hike the island), and at noon; reserve your choice ahead and BYOB. Birdwatch, take a hike, swim, watch our Board members build the fire and construct the lobster bake on the beach, or just beachcomb around the island until 1 pm when the lobsters will be served. The return boat will be at 3:00.
Bring your friends and family for an unforgettable day on a Maine coastal island with a traditional lobster bake. And be sure to stay for the puffin parade!
