Lobster Bake Fundraiser

August 29 @ 10:00 am - 3:30 pm

Mid-Coast Audubon invites everyone to its annual lobsterbake fundraiser at Hog Island Audubon camp with members of the Mid-Coast Audubon Board displaying their cooking talents and available to answer bird questions. Your $85 donation covers boat transportation, a meal of a lobster, potato, and corn-on-the-cob all baked over an open fire on the beach, plus clams, baked onion, lemonade, coffee and dessert, and the opportunity to explore the island before or after eating.

Tickets are on sale now! (click here to order online – our preferred method!)

Only 90 tickets will be sold by August 23, so don’t delay. If necessary, checks can be mailed to Sue Schubel, 12 Audubon Road, Bremen, ME 04568, and must be RECEIVED by August 23rd. Mailed checks should be preceded by an e-mail to Seafood Sue detailing your order. Checks received after the deadline of August 23rd cannot be accommodated.

The boat will depart the Audubon dock, at the end of Keene Neck Road in Bremen, at 10 a.m. (for those who wish to hike the island), and at 11 am; don’t forget to BYOB. Birdwatch, take a hike, swim, watch our Board members build the fire and construct the lobster bake on the beach, or just beachcomb around the island until noon when the lobsters will be served. The return boat will begin ferrying folks at 2 pm and 3:30 pm.

Bring your friends and family for an unforgettable day on a Maine coastal island with a traditional lobster bake. And be sure to stay for the puffin parade! Hope to see you on Hog Island and thank you for supporting Mid-Coast Audubon!
