Field Trip: Burkett Mill Preserve, Waldoboro

June 22 @ 7:00 am - 11:00 am

Join us as we venture to Burkett Mill Preserve in search of Yellow-bellied Flycatcher, Palm Warbler, and other birds that are rare breeders in the mid-coast region! The 362-acre preserve owned by Midcoast Conservancy contains a mosaic of different natural communities, with varying terrain of ledges and marshes.

Due to limited parking at the preserve, this field trip will be capped to 15 participants and we will meet in advance to carpool. Doing this will also give us a chance to stop and bird at Back Brook Marsh on Old Route One, just east of Waldoboro, where we may find American Bittern, Virginia Rail, Sora, Marsh Wren, Green Heron, and others!

To sign up, please send an email to Mael Glon indicating how many people will be in your party and whether you’re willing to be one of the carpool drivers. We will share the address and parking instructions with registrants. Please note that if the weather is unfavorable on Saturday, June 22, we will move this field trip to Sunday, June 23.
