Lobster Bake at Hog Island

    12 Audubon Road, Bremen

Mid-Coast Audubon invites you to its annual lobster bake fundraiser at Hog Island Audubon camp with members of the Mid-Coast Audubon Board displaying their cooking talents and available to answer bird questions.

A $50 per person donation covers boat transportation, a meal of a lobster, clams, potato, corn and onion, all baked over an open fire, plus lemonade, coffee and dessert, and the opportunity to explore the island before or after eating. The boat will depart the Audubon dock, at the end of Keene Neck Road in Bremen, at 10 a.m. (for those who wish to hike the island), and at noon; reserve your choice ahead and BYOB. Birdwatch, take a hike, swim, watch our Board members build the fire and construct the lobster bake on the beach, or just beachcomb around the island until the lobsters are served at 1 pm. The return boat will be at 3:00 pm.

Bring your friends and family for an unforgettable day on a Maine coastal island with a traditional lobster bake. And be sure to stay for the puffin parade!

To reserve your spot, mail a check made out to Midcoast Audubon for $50/person to Sue Schubel, 12 Audubon Road, Bremen, ME 04551. All checks must be received by Tuesday, September 3. Only 90 tickets will be sold. For more information, email Seafood Sue, subject “Lobsters.” Phone if you truly must (207-380-1370), but she is often out of touch on a distant island.
