Field Trip: Pine Point & Scarborough Marsh
August 22 @ 7:00 am - 4:00 pm
Hopefully, we will find the second migrating shorebird wave with this double header. We’ll be seeking sandpipers and plovers at this lure for shorebirds seeking to fatten up for the long flight south. These areas also offer fine viewing of waterfowl and wading birds. Pine Point is where the Scarborough River empties into the Atlantic ocean. Scarborough Marsh encompasses Maine’s largest expanse of salt marsh.
We will depart Damariscotta Hannaford at 7 am. We welcome birders of all skill levels. We’ll enjoy a nice lunch out together. For more information, or in the event of inclement weather, please call Trip Leader, Dennis McKenna, at (207) 563-8439 (home) or cell 207-522-2891.
